An innovative initiative, the Graduate School of One Health-Emerging Infectious Diseases (1H-EID) aims to educate a multidisciplinary community of experts in emerging infectious diseases, addressing global health challenges with an integrated and proactive approach.

Where we are

The Graduate School of One Health-Emerging Infectious Diseases offers an excellent training programme grounded in research and takes a multidisciplinary approach. Its primary goal is to create a community united by a common language, strong networks, and a shared understanding of the health, social, economic, and communication challenges posed by emerging infectious diseases. This initiative brings together the faculties of Health, Sciences, and Societies and Humanities of Université Paris Cité, as well as the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris. Additionally, the Institut Pasteur, the National Veterinary School of Alfort, and Sorbonne University are essential partners in this project.

Early warning and preparedness for epidemics of emerging infectious diseases are crucial for implementing reactive and effective measures to minimise their impact. Excellent training in the field of (re)emerging pathogens is therefore essential to address the major challenges that future generations will face in a globalised world.

The Graduate School of One Health-Emerging Infectious Diseases offers a multidisciplinary approach to global health, with a Master’s programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID), a doctoral programme, and continuing education.

Students from diverse backgrounds such as medicine, pharmacy, sciences, veterinary schools, or engineering, follow a transdisciplinary programme covering the biology of emerging pathogens, epidemiology, veterinary sciences, ecology, evolutionary biology, and socio-anthropology.
