Research labs within EnvA
List
Virology lab
INRAE – UMR 1161
The Virology lab focuses on studying viruses with significant impacts on human and animal health. Their research ranges from virus biology to practical aspects such as epidemiology, vaccinology, and virus-host interactions. For instance, they develop new diagnostic tools to monitor epidemics and study viruses in animals. Their areas of interest include orbiviruses, picornaviruses, zoonotic neurovirology, enteric viruses, interspecies barriers, adenovirus vectors, and vaccines.
BIPAR research unit
Molecular Biology and Parasitic Immunology
The BIPAR research unit focuses on foodborne and vector-borne parasitic diseases, such as those transmitted by ticks. Its goal is to safeguard human and animal health by developing new methods for screening, diagnosis, and surveillance. It investigates how diseases spread and interact with hosts, employing molecular and ecological approaches.
DYNAMIC research unit
Host/Pathogen Interactions Dynamics, Therapy, and Resistance in Medical and Veterinary Mycology
In 2013, female and male researchers from the EnvA (National Veterinary School of Alfort) and the Faculty of Medicine of Créteil decided to strengthen their collaboration in the field of Medical and Veterinary Mycology. They proposed the creation of a research structure named DYNAMIC to consolidate their efforts in this specific field.
EpiMAI research unit
Epidemiology of Animal Infectious Diseases
The EpiMAI research unit collaborates with the EPI Unit of the animal health laboratory at Anses. It focuses on the epidemiology of major animal infectious diseases, such as bovine tuberculosis or foot-and-mouth disease, which can be dangerous to humans or have a significant economic impact on livestock. Their research projects aim to assist authorities in making decisions regarding the eradication or management of these diseases. In summary, their work is centered around providing practical information for animal health officials, including veterinary services.
